Here provides extracts from Eulogy delivered by Gaetan Callus sdc :

I knew Sunny's family since they came to Australia in the early 1960s. He became a Member in 1968, was given the Cross of Resignation, and the SDC 'Rule of Life' by which he lived.

As a Member of the SDC, Sunny lived with dedication, generosity and prayer. He did his best to follow his call in the footsteps and charism of the Founder, Saint George Preca. He loved the children in the SDC and always took extra care to ensure they were always safe.

Sunny was an honest man and a man of integrity. He would express himself only when he felt a need.

Sunny was a man of prayer. He daily prayed the Rosary, and he never missed the meditation on the Compassion of Our Lady of Sorrows on Friday nights, where Members recall to mind the suffering of Mary after Jesus was buried. On every Thursday night he prayed the Adoration to God. He also had a devotion to the crucifix, which the Founder Saint George Preca called the Great Book.

Although Sunny never taught catechism, he always supported the Society with his prayers, sufferings, and generosity. We miss Sunny deeply but we know that he is in God's hands, together with his mum, dad and Members, who all are praying for us to have strength and to follow our calling.

Later in life, Sunny became more withdrawn, partly due to his poor eyesight and actually he never recovered from the grief of his parents passing away. He bore it with patience and often reflected in prayer on the suffering of Mary and her son Jesus Christ.
